Bedroom Tour: Part 2: Craft Corner for $150

I'm so happy that you enjoyed Part 1 of yesterday's Bedroom Tour but Part 2 is beyond my favorite! I have been dying for the past few years to have my own craft area in my home. I have moved to 3 different apartments in the past 3 years and I finally took the plunge and added a "craft corner" to our current apartment. I know that my family and I will only be living in our current apartment for the next year or so, so I did not want to "go big and permanent" in our space. This corner is just right for me. I took an empty area of the bedroom and added my desired space to store all my paint supplies and crafting accessories.

I love it. I worked with pieces of furniture I owned.I spent no more than $150. It works and I wake up feeling inspired.

I plan on added a mood board to the right under "PAINT." I am working on a post with all the details but for now, I wanted to share this awesome area with you!

The Before

Another Before

The Craft Corner lies to the right of our bed. It fits just perfect.

Mason jars for craft supplies.

Stacked boxes and luggage for a laptop table. There is room for storage in each item.

Wrapping paper covered the walls of this area. It is held up by thumb tacks an ribbon for a clean edge. Wrapping paper was only $1.50 a roll and still had some left over.

My favorite chair that has stayed with me through all my moves. Love the chippy look!

This shelf is a work in progress but it is enough space to hold all my paint.

When I do a room makeover, I am realistic with my decisions. I always craft or paint in a large area which is usually the kitchen table. For now, this area is to store all my creative things and blog.
Thank you for checking out my Craft Corner.
Happy Day!

Our Wedding

I have been blessed in so many ways this past year. I could have never imagined that I would have the opportunity to meet such a gentle soul in a man and be able to call him my husband.

We decided to chose 7.27.14 as our wedding day. Small and intimate is what we were aiming for since this was both our second marriages and we wanted this day to be about the love we have for each other...and nothing else. My wheels began spinning about all the vintage décor I wanted to incorporate in the ceremony and the small reception after. The anxiety of how am I going to "treasure hunt" all these amazing architectural pieces I had envisioned and painting projects I would take on....and then I remembered....the few hours of our celebration...was to focus on us and our love and nothing else.

Of course, I still got creative, but with simplistic ideas. I decided I wanted to do the flowers, including my bouquet, Joe's corsage, and the two center pieces that stood on the tables of our brunch celebration.

We both have a love for music and I had the idea to incorporate a violinist during our ceremony and brunch for a dash of serenity and class. It was the perfect touch to an unforgettable day.

The venue, violinist, photographer, my dress/shoes/jewelry, hair stylist/make up artist, and the choice to have our parents and siblings only, were all decided and planned in one day. The day was simple, elegant, and about our love for one another.

Can you even stand the architecture of the gazebo???? Love.

The vintage pins were found years ago at a flea market and was the perfect touch for this special day.

A vintage clutch I used as décor for a party last year. It added great texture as an accessory to my dress.

DIY Flowers

I fell in love with this headband from Anthropologie and was gifted to me by a friend. If you know be by now, I am not into the traditional element of things. I love that I can use this as an every day piece as well.

Thank you for sharing in the memories of this special time in our lives.

2013 Summer Review: One Lucky Girl

Time is just flying by. I am three months away from getting my Baccalaureate degree and I could not be more excited. (It has been a long time coming)

I always do amazing things over the summers and never really took a moment to reflect. This summer was just so awesome, that I wanted to remember everything that was awesome about it! : )

I mean really!!! Does it get much better than traveling, living in an amazing place like Montclair, and learning new painting skills?? This summer was simply wonderful!
Enjoy the day : )

Brimfield: The Lost Footage : )

Happy Monday Everyone!
I know this is long overdue but I did have some pictures from the Brimfield Flea Market in Brimfield, Ma. that I still wanted to share with you. Not only is this my favorite place to visit, but it is literally heaven on earth for antique and junk collectors. It is a bit away from NJ, but I get to see my besties and buy junk!!! Does it get any better than that???
After 2 1/2 hours...I make it to Brimfield...then the traffic began : (

Trying to make the best of the traffic by looking at some amazing buildings and architecture around the area. I would just love to restore this building! Sorry about the picture quality...best I can do from a cell phone : )
Finally made it!!!!

Lesson learned from previous Brimfield visit....bring rolling luggage for the hand held purchases....you do not want to walk around carrying heavy bags on your shoulder...not fun!

And you are now entering Heaven!!!!

Look at this building!! The colors and the design are just amazing.

How did I not leave with this piece!!!!!!! Only if I had the room and a purpose for it....

Does it get any better than all of this gorgeous stuff???

Creepiest thing we saw for sale....."Foot Stool"...really?

Can't wait to share my next visit with you! Hope you enjoyed : )

Last Brimfield Purchases : Part 3

The finale! These small pieces of silver and the old medicine bottle just add a tremendous amount of character to my antiqued wood cabinet. I bought each one for $2 each! They were so dirty when I purchased them. I wanted to go get silver polish, but I tried nail polish remover first..and they came out so shiny and awesome! They make excellent bud vases too!

Before : Dirty

After: Clean

Brimfield Purchases: Part 2

I think my new obsession is old leather. : )
I seem to not have enough of it! My boot collection is adding up and this may be a new love that I will never get tired of. I plan on wearing leather throughout the summer....especially these boots I got at Brimfield. I wonder what the history is of the man that previously owned them....

Brimfield purchases: Part 1

Good morning! Happy post Memorial Day! I have so many exciting things to share...with Brimfield being the best part : ) There is nothing that makes me happier than miles of tents filled with junk and antiques. I venture out with my besties twice a year and take on the challenge of looking through all the pretty things and finding a good bargain to take home. I have a new obsession with beat up old leathered goods...especially luggage. You would thing I was moving across seas with all the luggage I purchased..but I just love them to add to my collection.

Love how every piece I own has initials on it. Some would hate this, but I love the history.

Look what I found inside! A business card from 1868!

This antique perfume bottle was also in the luggage. I wonder the story behind it.
Enjoy the day!
