A Fool for Spool! Before and After

I have seen something similar like this done on one of my favorite Nate Berkus episodes, so I decided to bring it to life. I had this great jar from Pier 1 for a few years now and never really looked quite finished....until now.
Over the weekend, I purchased these spools for a $5!!!!

Another Frugal Friday

Well....I really have to admit that I am totally Thrift Obsessed! Friday was another successful day of fantastic finds that I could not resist! Here are a few of my new favorite things I could not leave the store without.....
I have a thing for silver and trophies lately....even though I believe it is an antique "sippy" cup.....it works!!! : )

Loving this picture of hydrangeas. Brings out all the hints of blue in the house.
This deal rocked at $7.99!!!!!!

This was the most random of the bunch, but who could resist the glitter holiday decor. Plan on using them as part of a table setting for Thanksgiving!
.29 cents each!!!!

Just Because

Just thought this was cute

Old Window turned Rustic Planter

This is the runner up for favorite projects so far!!! I had picked two old white windows and have been trying to figure out what to do with them. I decided that one would look great as old looking planter. I purchased a wire basket from Homegoods for $9.99 and screw in hooks from Lowes. Within minutes...I fell in love.
Original window

Don't mind my shoes in the background : )

Screwed in the hooks

Cute right? I am not sure if I am going to hang it outside or just lay it against the house on the deck. We shall see...
Happy Sunday!

Intended Candle holder turned Angle holder : )

Remember the old railings I purchased at the Brimfield flea market?
Original purchase
added a bracket to be able to hang them..

painted them white...
I then purchased two ceramic moldings and super glued them on to the pillars. They would still make great candle holders, but I put my favorite angel on it and IT JUST WORKED PERFECT!
The detail is amazing! I can not wait to hang them! Think they are going in the kitchen.

Dresser Must Go!

Hi all! I am looking to sell this dresser asap. I have so many projects going on and running out of space. The detailed knobs are what gives this piece a lot of character. I am asking $40! Great deal! Email or Facebook me if interested!!Thank you!

$12 PIN BOARD with Fabric Remnants

I found this left over fabric at a thrift store for $5. I loved the color and the vibrant pattern. Something about it made me smile : ) Ended up thinking that this would make an adorable pin board to hang pictures and quotes on. I purchased a canvas from Michael's craft store for $7 (after the 50% coupon) and stapled and glue gunned away! So easy with lots of impact.

HAPPY FRIDAY!

Signed, sealed, delivered....DIY Mail holder

I had an old rustic cabinet that I could not make work with the look in the rest of my house. My favorite part of the cabinet was the bottom drawer with all the different compartments that was made of wood.  So....I decided to take the drawer and re-purpose it into storage for our mail that is constantly left floating around the counter.
Front

Compartments that I loved

Some black paint and stencils from the craft store...

So simple yet the perfect place to store our mail : )

Distressed File Cabinet Makeover

A few posts back, I had posted a pic of a trash treasure of this black file cabinet that I recently found. I took a few hours tonight to redo this basic boring bill cabinet. Gave it a pale yellow distressed look with gray polka dot labels to write on. It will just make filing bills so much cuter : ) This one will be for sale too...

Everything is better in pink!

Here is a curbside treasure I found last summer and have been wanting to glam it up a bit since then. Finally dressed her up with thistle pink Valspar paint and some throw pillows. Love the way it turned out. TO KEEP OR NOT TO KEEP IS THE QUESTION. Think this one must go for sale!!!
PLEASE EXCUSE THE DROP SHEET ON THE GROUND : )

Best Brimfield Bargain goes to......

This...by far.....was the best bargain me and the girlies found at the Brimfield fair. Katie was brave enough to negotiate down to $25!!It looks so adorable in their home as a entryway table. Only if there was more than one for sale!!!

Sacred Sofa!

I was so lucky to have been given these gorgeous sofa that I just adore!!!!!!!A quick cleaning with some wood cleaner and a vacuum can make such a difference. The throw pillows and a blanket make it the perfect place to get comfy and read a book.

Oh! We're Half Way There....potential candle holders?

Here is a BEFORE shot (again) of the two pieces of black railing I purchased at Brimfield.
Here they are AFTER some sanding and a coat of paint.
Loving them in white. I believe I am going to turn them into candle holders to hand on the wall. Thoughts?

Mini Planter Revamp

Here is the mini planter I purchased at the Brimfield fair for $1. It is amazing how a hint of color can make something look so finished. Love this.

Interest with Pinterest..salt-n-peppa shakas

Here is the idea I found on pinterest and decided to try my first project with the $1 shakers I bought at the fair.
I will never pass up another set of wooden salt & peppers at the thrift stores again...
Pretty in Pink! Love the way they came out!

Brimfield: The purchases

Wood Corbel that I fell in love with! I am most likely going to use this as a frame holder

Needed serving pieces for the holidays! Sterling silver....2 for $15

Love small things...especially shiny small things.

Not a great pic but this bird's nest print is so charming and was $1. Going to find a great frame and hang it in the kitchen. Why am I obsessed with birds?

Parts of an old railing. Going to spray paint them white and may make shelves out of them : )

UP FOR THE PINTEREST CHALLENGE!!! Going to paint these in pink chalk paint. Scored these for $1 too : )

Restoration Hardware planter for $1. Already have a cute purple plant in it sitting on the deck.
